Are alternatives to the e-car really being systematically thwarted? The Hamburg researcher and process engineer Prof. Dr. Thomas Willner from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences HAW says quite clearly: YES.
In an interview (in full) with noz.de he criticizes the fact that the research debate is not yet being conducted neutrally. Willner: “There are already two camps in research: on the one hand, the uncritical supporters of electrification, who benefit from it through subsidies, and on the other hand, the critical camp, which calls for honest CO2 balances over the entire life cycle, but has a difficult time in the funding landscape. Incidentally, Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) and Transport&Environment, to name just two examples, are definitely not part of research as lobbying associations.” He would also advise all German car drivers to keep their diesel vehicles running on alternative fuels such as eFuels or HVO100 (the latter has finally been approved in Germany since April with a reduction in new CO2 emissions of around 90 percent) instead of buying new e-cars!
Willner: “Yes, if only to protect raw materials and the climate.
The planned replacement of the fleet and infrastructure is the worst outgrowth of a throwaway society!
All this should make you think!
