How scientific are many studies on e-cars and e-fuels for society and politics? Especially when it comes to fundamental policy decisions for the benefit of citizens and their future, politicians try to play it as safe as possible by commissioning studies and papers.
And that is a good thing.
However, it would appear that we should not rely on a single scientific opinion or presentation, but should always question the approaches and calculations presented and, if necessary, obtain a second or third opinion or presentation.
After all, in the case of the discussion paper “Lower Saxony and e-fuels” for the state government of Lower Saxony, scientists found considerable starting points for criticism and questions about the calculations and scientific approaches to the topic presented there.
Please see: https://www.efuels-forum.de/borderstep-diskussionspapier-niedersachsen-und-die-e-fuels/ The aim should not be to push through a concept such as the e-car by hook or by crook due to ideological blinkers, but to find the best solutions for the topic of “climate neutrality in transport”.
And this is exactly where eFuels and HVO could play an important role, if only they were allowed to. We are keeping our fingers crossed!
