Vehicle manufacturers are now also advocating more technological openness in the drive issue

According to UNITI, the VDA is calling for “a greater focus on renewable fuels, for example by including their average CO2 reduction effect in the EU fleet regulations for cars and trucks and by introducing a new category of vehicles with combustion engines that use renewable fuels. A blanket ban on new registrations of vehicles with combustion engines would thus be off the table.” UNITI Managing Director Elmar Kühn commented: “The VDA has made a striking change of course. The plan presented contains important regulatory proposals that can stimulate the ramp-up of renewable fuels.”

He is now also calling for: “The German government should lobby Brussels for significant adjustments to the current regulations”.

We are keeping our fingers crossed.
