Is there really no majority for the EU ban on combustion engines?
According to the latest survey conducted by the consulting firm Deloitte at the end of October, it is quite clear: YES, there is NO majority. According to the Deloitte website:
“Many people in Germany are not yet very open to the drive transition: Less than half (40%) support the planned EU ban on combustion engines from 2035. 36% of consumers, on the other hand, rate the decision to stop selling CO2-emitting new vehicles from 2035 as bad or very bad. The remaining 24% see themselves as neutral, as a recent representative survey by Deloitte shows.”
If you also consider the great concern for Germany as a business location for the automotive industry as well as the poor sales of e-cars and the lack of e-car charging infrastructure and acceptance, politicians should slowly start to reconsider the ideologically motivated phase-out of combustion engines and accept the will of the majority!
In addition, combustion engines can already be powered by modern, renewable fuels (eFuels) with significantly reduced CO2 emissions!
The federal elections on February 23rd can certainly bring about an initial change of direction!!!
