Finance Minister Lindner wants to equate sustainable fuels with electromobility

He recently announced to the AugsburgerAllgemeineZeitung that the “draft bill for the changes in tax law is ready and will be coordinated within the federal government!”

He also “hopes that this will send a signal to industry that the Federal Government is serious about technological freedom.”

This would be a very important step, particularly with regard to investors, as the energy tax alone amounts to 65 ct/l for petrol and 47 ct/l for diesel. eFuels could therefore be passed on at considerably lower cost. Other factors that could be adjusted include vehicle tax, company car tax and VAT.

And the ban on combustion engines in 2035 is also to be overturned because “synthetic liquid fuels and HVO biofuels are also a way to be climate-friendly. The market should then decide what is economical and what consumers want, not politicians and civil servants”.
