At least according to “car pope” Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Dudenhöffer, the outlook is very bleak. The reason for this is now also the discontinuation of the environmental bonus for e-cars since December 17 – initiated by the Green Minister for Economic Affairs Habeck.
Germany as a business location appears to be in danger.
That’s what Focus says:
And the German carmakers? They need to rethink their strategy. “Electric only” must no longer be the only way forward. According to Dudenhöffer, new investments in the combustion engine are necessary and losses in the electric car business are inevitable.
And further:
The mantra of German car manufacturers was that there was no alternative to electromobility. At least for most people, as electric cars have been generously subsidized. However, this idea of the emission-free car is now a thing of the past.
Good to know:
It has long been clear that all combustion engines can be refueled with eFuels (synthetic fuels) and HVO and can thus make a decisive contribution to the transport transition.
Perhaps this possibility will now find more open ears?
