BMW Group is committed to HVO100

So much for “electric only”: The BMW Group just reported on its website that it prioritizes technological openness and is relying on HVO100 in diesel vehicles. In the news article, the Munich-based automaker once again clearly emphasizes the potential of HVO100.

BMW uses the fuel for the following applications:
1/ Since March 2023: Used in four trucks operated by logistics service provider Guggemos, which travel between Landau an der Isar and the BMW Group plant in Munich for BMW Group plant logistics
2/ Since January 2025: Initial fill for all diesel models produced in Germany
3/ Used in six additional trucks operated by DB Schenker, which shuttle warehouse parts from the BMW Group supply center in Eching to the production facilities in Munich

The BMW Group’s diesel engines—developed at the Steyr plant and manufactured primarily in Germany—have been approved, on a series- and model-specific basis, since the production month of March 2015 for fuels that comply with the European standard EN 15940 and are therefore compatible with HVO100.
