Should the existing ban on combustion engines from 2035 really be overturned now?
In view of the current statements by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) regarding the car summit, it seems quite clear: YES!
According to BRF News:
“German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has clearly spoken out against a ban on combustion engines from 2035.”
It’s good that existing and future combustion engines can already be operated with significantly lower CO2 emissions using synthetic fuels such as eFuels and HVO.
We are therefore keeping our fingers crossed that the completely outdated EU ban on combustion engines will disappear quickly from 2035 and that the way will finally be clear for a sensible, multi-strand and technology-open future in the field of drive technology!
