Are there really only electric cars left in China and is that why we need to get rid of our combustion engines quickly?
Johannes Winterhagen, FAZ editor in the Economy, Technology and Motor section, says quite clearly: It would be better to take a closer look at what is happening in China, because then you wouldn’t argue like that!!!
This is because most of the new energy vehicles (NEVs) sold in China today are plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. And only around 25% are pure battery electric cars.
Good to know:
According to Wikipedia, the term “New Energy Vehicle” (NEV) is used in China to refer to automobiles that run entirely or predominantly on electric power, including plug-in electric vehicles – battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) – and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).
Synthetic fuels such as eFuels or HVO could also be used to operate the combustion part of the hybrid in a climate-friendly way. So against this background, why should the combustion engine necessarily go?
By voting for the right parties in the Bundestag elections on February 23rd, this misguided, purely ideological and political logic of banning combustion engines can fortunately be voted out!
We keep our fingers crossed!
