Resistance from business and industry to a possible ban on combustion engines is becoming increasingly evident!
Bosch CEO Stefan Hartung, for example, recently made a crystal clear statement to the portal “The Pioneer”: “We must continue to provide combustion technology in Germany, otherwise the world will not be able to cope with it.”
The decisive factor for this statement is certainly not only the faltering development of electromobility, but also the view beyond the German and European horizon: “You can’t force customers outside Europe not to use combustion engines. In some cases, there are no alternative solutions at all,” Hartung continues.
In addition, all petrol and diesel engines could already run on eFuels(synthetic fuels) and
HVO
(fuels made from waste and residual materials) – it is not the engine that is “bad” for the environment, but the fossil fuels that have been predominantly used up to now.

This is precisely why EU policymakers should urgently carry out a reality check when it comes to electromobility and absolutely overturn the planned ban on combustion engines!
The change in the current majority situation in the EU as a result of the European elections24 in June could make a difference in this respect!
