Business and industry are calling for a reality check on electromobility and a complete repeal of the ban on combustion engines!
According to FOCUS, Mahle boss Arnd Franz urgently needs to “rethink the EU’s electric strategy”, as the “switch to electric vehicles has stalled”. He also sees “diversity as the key to (our) climate goals”.

He told the FAZ newspaper that “although electromobility is an important technology for the decarbonization of transport, it cannot be the only solution.
“There are regions and areas of application that will find electrification very difficult,” he said. All available technologies should be used for effective climate protection, including sustainable combustion engines.
Franz believes that this can be implemented, as “the majority situation can change as a result of elections”. Note: European elections are at the beginning of June!
Mahle also advocates “clear incentives for renewable fuels”.
