Alarming study findings!
Full electrification of Germany’s entire energy system through renewable energies in Germany alone? Just a fairy tale?
The new study “Availability and Purposeful Use of Renewable Electricity Produced in Germany” by the economic consulting firm Frontier Economics on behalf of UNITI comes to the following conclusion: It cannot be ensured that the electricity quantities required for a full electrification of the entire energy system can be provided by renewable energies in Germany alone.

According to the study, the climate protection path taken by the German government, which is based on the targeted electrification of as many end-use applications as possible in Germany by 2045, is not viable due to limited domestic green power potential.
A major supply gap with unforeseeable consequences looms for citizens, business and industry.
Alternatives / additions must be made as soon as possible!
This certainly includes the import of hydrogen and synthetic fuels(eFuels), which can be produced directly in wind- and sun-rich regions and thus do not burden the domestic green power market.
