Synthetic fuels (eFuels) shake up BURNING OUT

The unease about the recently decided EU ban on internal combustion engines is obviously gaining momentum across Europe – the reason for this seems to be the advancing development of synthetic fuels(eFuels).
Because it is precisely these synthetic fuels that make it possible to run existing and future internal combustion cars in a climate-friendly way quickly and easily.
So why ban the combination of eFuels and combustion engine from above and not remain open to technology?

For this reason, German Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) announced that he would only agree to the EU’s planned ban on internal combustion vehicles from 2035 if the use of eFuels was included in the regulation on fleet limits.

Swedish environmental associations and the Green Party also oppose the ban on internal combustion engines and see synthetic fuels as an important lever for reducing CO2 emissions.

And Italy is launching a government purchase incentive for new diesel cars and will also give 150 ENI stations 90 percent CO2-neutral synthetic HVO100 by the end of March. Further stations are then to follow.

Thanks to Andreas Höchst for compiling the development.
