MAZDA also continues to rely on diesel engines

Even though it is often claimed that there is no way around electromobility, this statement does not make it any more correct. According to the FAZ, the world market is inhomogeneous, and even in our immediate neighborhood there are countries that want to know less or nothing about battery cars. In addition, there would be major hurdles such as the previous charging times, ranges and costs. A big “yes, but” to electromobility with a reasonable dose of technology openness would be appropriate.

And this is exactly what has only come from BMW so far. But now Mazda is also putting a clear exclamation mark against the one-way electric trend, delivering “a small sensation” next year, the FAZ continues. This refers to a new diesel engine in the CX-60 model – an inline six-cylinder with a displacement of 3.3 liters and a thermal efficiency that Mazda calls a record.

Fueled by CO2-neutral eFuels, such engines could then make a decisive contribution to achieving our climate targets.
