US $260 million secured for eFuels expansion

In view of the Ukraine crisis and the climate targets that have been set, it is important to make rapid progress on the issue of new energies. HIF Global, the world leader in eFuels development, is now demonstrating how this can be done. In doing so, the company is securing capital investments of approximately $260 million to develop pioneering decarbonization in various projects with production facilities in the U.S., Chile and Australia. The plant is to be modeled on the pioneering Haru Oni project in Magallanes (Chile).

Equity investors include funds from globally recognized companies such as Porsche AG, EIG, AME, Baker Hughes and Gemstone Investments. AME, one of Chile’s five largest power producers and the parent company of HIF Global, remains the majority shareholder.

The goal is to extract more than 25 million metric tons of CO2 per year from the atmosphere to produce 150,000 barrels of eFuels per day – including for existing cars, ships and aircraft.
