On February 28, 2022, the eFuels Forum held its first event with the BMW Mini. The BMW was fueled with synthetic fuel from the technology partner CAC GmbH from Chemnitz.
The venue was the company Ludger Brämswig GmbH in Lohne (Lower Saxony). The company is now managed by the third generation. Ludger Brämswig, welcomed the guests with the words: “eFuels are an important topic for us. I think it’s great that my son Michael Brämswig is committed to this cause; it’s the future.”
The mayoral candidate Stephan Blömer ( no party affiliation) organized this meeting together with Michael Brämswig. Also present was the climate policy spokesman of the FDP, Mr. Olaf in der Beek. The speaker of the eFuels Forum, Dr. Lorenz Kiene (Lühmann Group, Hoya) , clearly expressed: ” In order to meet the global challenge of climate change, it is necessary to look to the future with an open mind to technology. None of the possible energies of the future should be neglected. eFuels are currently not promoted in the same way as e.g. battery-powered electromobility.” Kiene was alluding to the fact that the funding backdrop for the energy types hydrogen, e-car and e-fuels is not identical. “We therefore do not need bans, but equal opportunities also at the Brussels level,” Kiene continued.
