Efficiency debate around e-fuels

3 hours of daily solar energy would be enough to cover today’s global energy demand for one year – including all traffic. In other words, energy could be inexhaustible thanks to the future expansion of the renewable energy generation sector.

It would only have to be produced where it is most available, such as in North Africa or South America. The so-called pure motor efficiency, which is often used against e-fuels, is actually relatively irrelevant against this background. In this case, the discussion is very one-sided, without having an overall view of the future of global energy supply in mind.

And is it also particularly efficient to “throw away” millions of cars?

Much more crucial for the future is therefore the issue of transporting energy and developing fair and affordable global mobility concepts. And that’s where e-fuels would be an easy-to-install bridge and future energy form. This is because the infrastructure for liquid fuel is available worldwide.
