Is the goal of only allowing purely electric cars really “unfortunately unrealistic”, as Lower Saxony’s Minister President Olaf Lies (SPD) recently publicly stated?
Of course YES: It is exactly as Minister President Olaf Lies said – “unfortunately unrealistic”!!!
And that is precisely why the employers’ association NiedersachsenMetall is now praising Olaf Lies for his clear words and, for its part, is once again urgently warning of a possible end to combustion engines!
Volker Schmidt, Managing Director of NiedersachsenMetall, told the German Press Agency: “We are much more dependent on cars than Bavaria and Baden-WĂĽrttemberg. We therefore welcome the fact that Lies is now also speaking out in favor of open-technology solutions.”
IMPORTANT:
Schmidt also believes that a switch to electromobility within a few years is unrealistic due to the high purchase prices for vehicles, a lack of charging infrastructure and high electricity costs. The head of the association calls on the EU to be open to all technologies. Schmidt also advocates the use of HVO as an alternative to fossil diesel.
