Of course DOCH!
Swiss International Air Lines, for example, is currently integrating solar fuel from Synhelion into its flight operations for the first time.
The test quantity of synthetic fuel comes from the DAWN production plant, where it was processed into certified aviation fuel (Jet-A-1) using solar energy.
Good to know:
Further steps are now required before solar fuel can be widely used in aviation. The conditions for continuous production and sufficient production capacities are now being created for commercial market entry from 2027.
Important: The EU Renewable Energy Directive stipulates that sustainable synthetic fuels must achieve a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of at least 70 percent compared to fossil kerosene. The life cycle assessment carried out by an independent body confirms that the fuels from the DAWN plant can significantly exceed this target.
