European premiere: Sales launch of KlimaBenzin95 at the CLASSIC filling station in Kirchweyhe

Kirchweyhe, June 16, 2025 – KlimaBenzin95 is a new, 95 percent petroleum-free petrol for all those who focus on climate and performance when filling up. The new fuel will be sold for the first time at a public roadside filling station in mid-June 2025.

An important step towards more sustainable mobility: from June 16, 2025, the product KlimaBenzin95 will be available for the first time at the CLASSIC filling station in Kirchweyhe (near Bremen). The E10 fuel uses green methanol instead of fossil resources and is therefore 95 percent petroleum-free. This enables KlimaBenzin95 to reduce new CO2 emissions by up to 90 percent compared to fossil E10 petrol – without any loss of performance. The “95” in the product name stands for both the octane value and the high proportion of non-fossil components.

The alternative to fossil gasoline can generally be filled up without any adjustment or loss of performance. KlimaBenzin95 is drop-in capable, which means it can be mixed with conventional gasoline. The entire logistics chain – from transportation and storage to dispensing at the pump – remains intact. The price of KlimaBenzin95 is roughly the same as that of premium fuels such as Super Plus. The fuel used is based on the methanol-to-gasoline process developed by CAC Engineering, an international plant engineering and process technology company. KlimaBenzin95 supplements the Klima Kraftstoffe GmbH product family and the existing portfolio of KlimaDiesel25 and KlimaDiesel HVO100 with an immediately usable gasoline grade.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our customers an alternative to fossil gasoline directly at the pump for the first time since KlimaDiesel HVO100. The introduction of KlimaBenzin95 is a further step towards more climate-friendly mobility in everyday life,” says Lorenz Kiene, Managing Director of Klima Kraftstoffe GmbH and the Lühmann Group, which operates the CLASSIC filling station in Kirchweyhe.
