Harley-Davidson Braunschweig and the eFuels Forum rely on eFuels for Customer First Fill

The eFuels Forum, NORDOEL and Harley-Davidson Braunschweig are launching a cooperation to establish synthetic fuels as a sustainable alternative in the motorcycle sector. From April 2025, Harley-Davidson Braunschweig will be one of the first authorized dealers worldwide to deliver its new vehicles with eFuel Performance 95, thus sending a strong signal for climate-friendly mobility.

Harley-Davidson Germany is expanding its sustainability strategy and is focusing on synthetic fuels in cooperation with the eFuels Forum and NORDOEL. As one of the world’s first authorized dealers of an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Harley-Davidson Braunschweig will deliver new vehicles with eFuel Performence 95 (95 octane) as a Customer First Fill from April 2025. This means that all new motorcycles will be refueled with synthetic gasoline before being handed over to customers. After Harley-Davidson Kiel, Harley-Davidson Braunschweig is the next major Harley dealer in Germany to use eFuels, thereby taking on a pioneering role in the field of sustainable fuels.

The cooperation will be officially presented at the open house event on April 12, 2025 at Harley-Davidson Braunschweig. The eFuels Forum is accompanying the launch with a large-scale communication campaign and will provide visitors to the event with the first 600 liters of eFuels free of charge. This underlines the commitment of all partners to raise awareness of eFuels as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

“Our aim is to raise awareness of eFuels as a practicable and sustainable alternative to fossil fuels and to demonstrate to the public that these innovative fuels work reliably and can make an important contribution to reducing COâ‚‚ emissions in the transport sector,” emphasizes Lorenz Kiene, Managing Director of the eFuels Forum.

“Sustainability and riding pleasure don’t have to be a contradiction in terms – with eFuels, we offer our customers a forward-looking alternative that preserves the character and performance of our motorcycles,” adds Andre RodemĂĽller, Managing Director of Harley-Davidson Braunschweig. “As one of the first Harley-Davidson dealerships worldwide to deliver new vehicles with eFuel Performence 95 (95 octane), we are sending a clear signal for innovation and responsibility. This partnership shows that climate-friendly mobility is also possible in the motorcycle sector.”

Origin of eFuels and prospects for the future

The fuel used here is produced in the DeCarTrans project (Demonstrating a Circular Carbon Economy in Transport along the Value Chain, 16RK14004A-F), which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport with a total of 14.93 million euros. This project aims to promote the development of renewable fuels in order to reduce CO 2-emissions in the transport sector as quickly as possible. The fuel used is based on the methanol-to-gasoline process, developed by CAC Engineering, and is produced at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg in the world’s largest demonstration plant for research and development purposes.
