The “idiocy of the ban on combustion engines”

Combustion car ban from 2035 – why this false and unnecessary EU requirement must be comprehensively removed from the table: In his guest article “The idiocy of the ban on combustion engines – 5 reasons why we will soon be rid of it” on FOCUS online, journalist, author and media manager Gabor Steingart explains why the European Parliament’s plan to ban combustion engines is unlikely to be implemented in the end. The author gives the following five reasons: 1. electromobility is a niche product from a global perspective 2. there is no e-boom in Germany either 3. charging infrastructure is making little progress 4. electromobility today means: China First 5. car industry changes direction
Steingart concludes: “The future probably belongs to electromobility – but not everywhere, not alone and the future, not the present.” For this reason, the ban on combustion engines must be lifted. In addition, even existing combustion engines can already be operated with HVO100 fuel and synthetic fuels (eFuels) with a reduction in new CO2 emissions of up to 90 %!!! The European elections24 on June 9 can certainly make a big difference here with new majorities!
