A very important step for the topic of sustainable fuels in general:
According to the specialist portal Sprit+, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs(BDMV) announced on April 10 that “the CO2 tax for climate-friendly HVO diesel (fuels from residual and waste materials) will no longer apply”.
This goes hand in hand with the amendment to the 10th Federal Immission Control Ordinance (10th BImSchV) by resolution of the Federal Cabinet, which allows the free sale of HVO100 at public filling stations, and the exemption from the CO2 tax means that there will be “no increase in costs for the end consumer”.
This is a great thing, especially with regard to eFuels(renewable, synthetic fuels), as this change will also result in a significant cost reduction for the end consumer in the case of synthetic fuels.
