Synthetic fuels are essential for climate protection

Technology openness is the key to success!
At the “Forum des Handwerkerzelts” (Mannheim) on May 7, renowned experts discussed the topic of “E-Fuels: Fuel for Climate Protection“.

Important experts from politics, associations and science were present, such as Prof. Dr. Thomas Koch (Head of the Institute of Piston Engines at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Carsten Beuß (General Manager of the Association of the Automotive Trade BW) and Friedrich Haag (Spokesman of the Parliamentary Group for Individual Mobility, FDP). A spotlight was shone on the importance of e-fuels in securing individual mobility in the future.

Friedrich Haag according to FDP press release literally to it:
“China invests massively in the internal combustion technology. We should make good use of what we already have. Climate-neutral mobility is possible with synthetic fuels. It is not the engine that is the problem, but the fossil fuel. We must not allow our core competence in combustion technology to migrate to other countries. It is absurd to pretend that e-mobility is CO2-free at a time when coal-fired power plants are being ramped up. The e-fuels strategy will succeed in the important ramp-up of production. This is how we prevent new dependencies.”
