It’s great that there is political progress with the overall topic of alternative fuels and technology openness!
This is now also reflected in a published position paper of the SPD AG Verkehr on “Strengthening the climate-friendly biogenic tank infrastructure“.
It states: “We are committed to an effective climate protection strategy for transport. For this, we need different technologies (…).”
A particular focus here is initially on CO2 reduction solutions for existing vehicles.
Current biofuels from waste and residual materials, for example, can quickly and easily achieve significant CO2 savings and should be added to the immediate climate protection program for the transport sector.
For this reason, the SPD also supports the introduction and approval of E20 and the approval of KlimaDiesel (HVO 100), as a renewable pure fuel made from waste and residual materials – a good step, especially in view of the handling of synthetic fuels (eFuels).
