STIHL wants to rely on eFuels in the future

Many renowned companies in Germany are very dissatisfied with the path currently being taken by policymakers on the subject of energy transition and electrification. Lack of infrastructure and excessively high energy prices: In an interview with the Stuttgarter Zeitung (StZ), the chainsaw entrepreneur Nikolas Stihl recently ventilated his views on this.
 
Even a combustion engine out would certainly not help in this situation. Because according to Stihl and StZ, the company will not be able to do without combustion engines for a long time to come, for example, in new, professional chainsaws with greater performance requirements. In order to nevertheless make its contribution to the climate targets set, the company will therefore use climate-friendly synthetic fuels (eFuels) in the future.
 

According to Stihl, “We are working on the issue and have, for example, launched a CO2-reduced fuel this year,” Stihl said. The fuel cell, on the other hand, is rather uninteresting because it would have to be built very small for Stihl products.
