But there is one decisive advantage of synthetic fuels – also over battery-powered eMobility – that tends to be overlooked: It is their liquid form. This is because it makes it possible to transport them in tanks over long distances worldwide. So also from the planned production sites in considerably sunnier and windier regions of the world such as America, Australia or today already Chile – where green electricity generation is many times more effective – to us in Germany and Europe. The entire infrastructure for this already exists. And even the ships and trucks used in delivery could be powered by eFuels in a carbon-neutral way.
This means that domestic green electricity resources would remain largely unaffected and would be available to other sectors in almost their entirety.
