Expert forum recommends a clear focus on renewable fuels

Will renewable fuels really not play a role in the future, as some critics and the media repeatedly claim?

Of course: DOCH!
The expert forum for climate-friendly mobility and infrastructure (EKMI) set up by the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) has just presented its working report, which, according to a UNITI report, “recommends a clear focus on renewable fuels”!

For example, EKMI advocates the recognition of renewable fuels in the CO2 fleet regulation. It also recognizes “that investors need long-term planning security and an attractive investment environment for the production ramp-up of renewable fuels. Consequently, the experts advocate the establishment of a system to take renewable fuels into account as part of the European fleet regulation for new passenger cars and light and heavy commercial vehicles”.

UNITI Managing Director Elmar KĂĽhn summarizes: “The ECMI final report contains some sensible and effective measures to advance climate protection in road transport on the basis of genuine technological openness in the drive issue. The Federal Ministry of Transport should take up these proposals and defend them vigorously as part of the preparation of the new climate protection program of the
federal government.”

We keep our fingers crossed!
