Is driving with charging current really cheaper today than filling up with fuel, as is still often claimed?
According to spiegel.de very clearly: NO!!!
This was recently reported by Der Spiegel:
“Expensive electricity, little competition: e-car drivers now often pay more per kilometer at public charging stations than when they fill up with petrol. This is the result of an analysis commissioned by a green electricity provider (“Lichtblick”).”
It’s a good thing that it will probably remain cheaper to continue driving a combustion engine car for the time being – and what’s more, it can already be run on synthetic fuels with greatly reduced CO2 emissions!
