Is the automotive industry’s current approach to the transport transition really the right one?
Volkswagen’s announcements about possible plant closures and the growing uncertainty among the workforce are shaking the whole of Lower Saxony and raising urgent questions about the future viability of the entire automotive and supplier industry.
This is precisely why the CDU in Lower Saxony invited high-profile guests from business, politics and associations to an automotive summit last week at the Lower Saxony State Parliament under the motto “Automotive sector in transition – what strategies will Lower Saxony use to drive into the future” – including Dr. Lorenz Kiene, initiator of the eFuels Forum.
As a panelist, Dr. Lorenz Kiene particularly advocated the use of HVO and eFuels in the existing fleet. After all, in order to ensure competitiveness and prosperity for all of us and to pave the way to climate neutrality, we need innovative approaches that are open to all technologies – from electromobility and hydrogen technologies to climate-friendly fuels!
