DMYV and IWGB with the eFuels Forum at Interboot

Motorized water sports also make their contribution to climate protection. The German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV) and the Internationale Wassersportgemeinschaft Bodensee (IWGB), in partnership with the eFuels Forum, will provide information on the topic of alternative fuels at the international water sports trade fair Interboot from September 23 to October 1, 2023 in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance with an information booth and as part of a series of lectures.

The eFuels Forum will be at the show with its own information booth directly across from the DMYV booth (A4-214) and next to the IWGB (A4- 312) in Hall A4-313. Here, interested parties can obtain information on how they can already operate their boats today with up to 90 % less CO2-emissions with HVO fuels such as KlimaDiesel and, in the future, CO2-neutral with eFuels. The stand of the eFuels Forum is recognizable from afar by a green balloon floating above it. This is the sign of all exhibitors presenting the topic of sustainability in water sports at Interboot.

eFuels (“Electricity-based Fuels”) are liquid synthetic fuels produced from hydrogen and carbon dioxide using green electricity. During use, only as much CO2 as was previously taken from the atmosphere during their production. For this reason, they are considered CO2-neutral. eFuels are produced in regions of the world where wind and solar energy are available in large quantities. Tankers can then bring them to Europe in liquid form, where they can be transported in the existing infrastructure, stored and then sold at service stations. Other synthetic fuels that are also produced without petroleum include residual and waste-based fuels such as Hydrotreaded Vegetable Oils (HVO).

The presentations by Dr. Lorenz Kiene, Managing Director of the eFuels Forum and Klima Kraftstoffe, a consortium of medium-sized energy companies that sells the HVO product KlimaDiesel at filling stations, will then go into detail. The event kicks off with a lecture on the topic on the first Saturday of the fair, the September 23, at the International Lake Constance News (IBN) action area in Hall A4. In addition, on the first Saturday and Sunday of the trade show, Dr. Kiene will be 23. and September 24, at 3:15 p.m. on the main stage in the West Foyer, interested listeners can find out what KlimaDiesel & Co are all about. Last but not least, a presentation on the topic of alternative fuels is planned at the IWGB’s Environment Day on September 30, starting at 10:15 a.m. in the “Austria” room of the Conference Center West at Messe Friedrichshafen.
