PCK refinery in Schwedt switches to eFuels

Good news:
PCK Raffinerie Schwedt and renewable energy specialist Enertrag intend to establish a “renewable energy-chemical-fuel alliance” in eastern Germany at the Schwedt site. The aim of the two companies is to produce synthetic fuels(eFuels) and basic chemicals (eChemicals) in the future – as a departure from traditional fossil-based starting products.

A recently published concept study presented a target picture of the project for the year 2045. This was reported by ERFAHRER.com:
“At that time (2045), the refinery plans not only to produce its own hydrogen, but also to collect hydrogen by pipeline in the region. In addition, the plant also plans to offer e-fuels (e-methanol, e-kerosene) and e-chemicals for sale. The annual production volume is expected to be several million metric tons to secure the long-term supply of green refined products to eastern Germany.”
