New investment along the eSAF value chain.
The eFUEL GROUP has acquired a stake in the aviation startup AERLIN. According to the group, this move expands its activities in the field of synthetic aviation fuels to include the user and application perspectives of the aviation industry.
The value chain to date encompasses several areas:
1. CO₂ capture from ambient air by DACMA GmbH
2. Production of synthetic fuels by GERMAN eFUEL ONE
3. Development and production of eSAF at CAPHENIA
4. Application prospects in aviation by AERLIN
Good to know:
Battery-electric or hydrogen-based propulsion systems are currently of limited use, especially on medium- and long-haul flights. Synthetic aviation fuels could serve as a complementary option in the future to reduce the use of fossil fuels.
Prerequisites for this include, among other things, renewable electricity, suitable carbon sources, compliance with regulatory requirements, and recognized certification. The actual greenhouse gas footprint must also be considered over the entire life cycle.
