According to Die Welt<\/strong>, “the significant increase in the price of traction current <\/strong>could even lead to more diesel <\/strong> locomotives <\/strong>being used instead of climate-friendly electric <\/strong> locomotives <\/strong>.” And according to Automotorsport <\/strong>, “low-priced electricity is also history” at charging stations, causing drivers to “frown when they look at the price display”<\/div>\n

The tenor is clear: Something has to be done in order not to endanger the chosen path of the energy transition <\/strong>and not to lose the acceptance of the people and the industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It would take a rethink in rethinking the way other technologies, such as CO2-neutral<\/strong> e-fuels<\/strong>, are used – at least for a transitional period. This could immediately reduce CO2 emissions from the supporting diesel locomotives, for example, or from all existing diesel<\/strong> and gasoline cars<\/strong>. The renewable energy for e-fuels would come from wind- and sun-rich regions of the world via the existing infrastructure, which would also allow other countries to benefit and sufficiently meet any energy needs. The question is, what are key decision makers still waiting for?<\/div>\n
