Initial analyses show that Chinese manufacturers and suppliers are the main beneficiaries of German taxpayer money, since their cars are primarily chosen and subsidized by German customers. <\/p>\n<p><em>What&#8217;s wrong with this electric car incentive?<\/em><br \/>\nChinese cars are manufactured under conditions that are very different from those in Germany and the EU\u2014and, unfortunately, our government has failed to attach conditions to its support.<\/p>\n<p><em>What&#8217;s the downside?<\/em><br \/>\nThe taxpayer money that is now simply flowing to China could certainly have been used to support the development of infrastructure for synthetic fuels right here at home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is the government&#8217;s electric car subsidy really a sensible way to support the German economy using German taxpayer money?
