Strategic Importance for ENEOS: For ENEOS, the partnership with GEF1 is a key component of its strategy to drive the energy transition and establish new supply chains for low-carbon fuels for the Japanese market.
2. Strategic Significance for GEF1: With this agreement, GEF1 secures its first off-taker in Asia, thereby creating an important reference case for further international supply contracts. The synthetic fuels will be produced at Germany’s first large-scale eGasoline production facility.

Connecting Europe and Japan:
Through this collaboration, ENEOS and GEF1 aim to contribute to the development of a global market for synthetic fuels by linking European production capacity with demand in Japan. The agreement is a concrete example of how cross-border partnerships can accelerate the adoption of new technologies and support the decarbonization of existing vehicle fleets and infrastructure.

Photo: Christian Hanke (left), Managing Director of German eFuel One, and Hideaki Tanaka (right), Operating Officer and Head of the “Low Carbon Solutions” Division at ENEOS Corporation.

More on this: https://gef1.de/unkategorisiert/eneos-german-efuel-one-strategische-zusammenarbeit-synthetische-kraftstoffe/

Photo: ENEOS

Is there really no significant progress being made on synthetic fuels—as some critics and media outlets keep claiming?
