, is calling for a major course correction in the upcoming revision of CO\u2082 fleet limits.<\/p>\n

<\/span>The letter states verbatim: \u201cThe European CO\u2082 fleet regulation must be designed in a way that is consistently open to all technologies. The decisive factor must not be which propulsion technology is used in the vehicle, but whether it actually contributes to CO\u2082 reduction. The federal government\u2019s position rightly makes it clear that vehicles powered by renewable fuels must also be recognized as climate-neutral solutions within the framework of the fleet regulation.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\nThe representatives of the federal states of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, Bavaria, and Lower Saxony\u2014the \u201cheartlands of the German automotive industry\u201d\u2014 \u2013 are therefore demanding that \u201ca clear course correction be made in the further legislative process: toward genuine technological openness, a flexible and practical approach to achieving the goals, and a clear commitment to competitiveness and industrial strength in Europe.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
