The season opener for the racing series is the ADAC Racing Weekend on the first weekend in May at the Hockenheimring.

The eFuels Forum is once again involved as a partner of the ADAC Weser-Ems in the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup in the 2026 season. For the third time in a row, the initiative is providing the young drivers with synthetic fuel for all racing cars. The season opener will take place from May 1 to 3, 2026 as part of the ADAC Racing Weekend at the Hockenheimring.

The ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup has quickly established itself as one of the most important junior series in circuit racing. The focus is on young talents who find their way into motorsport under professional conditions. They race in identical VW up! GTI vehicles, which are equipped with modern racing technology to ensure fair competition. “The fact that we specifically support junior series with the eFuels Forum has a very clear objective: to bring young talents into contact with alternative fuels at an early stage and to inform them. For us as ADAC Weser-Ems, this is an important contribution to the future viability of motorsport,” says Andreas von der Haar, ADAC Weser-Ems motoring officer.

The eFuels Forum uses the platform specifically to demonstrate the performance of synthetic fuels under real and particularly demanding conditions. The fuel used enables the vehicles to operate with high performance and efficiency at the same time. In addition, synthetic gasoline has significantly lower CO₂ emissions compared to fossil gasoline and can be used in existing engines without technical modifications. This turns motor racing into a real-life laboratory for the mobility of tomorrow: eFuels prove their practical suitability under full load, in competition and under changing conditions – and show that they can also be an immediately available solution for reducing new CO₂ emissions in everyday life. In addition to the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup, the fuel is also used in the regional junior series ADAC Clubsport Rallye Sprint Cup Nord and the ADAC Weser-Ems Mini Buggy Pokal.

“Motorsport is the acid test for any fuel. If synthetic petrol is convincing here under full load, it clearly shows that it is also suitable for widespread use in everyday life – and without any modifications to existing vehicles,” says Lorenz Kiene, spokesperson for the eFuels Forum.

ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup in Oschersleben (c) Toppmoeller_Photography

Press contact:
Annika Beyer
E-mail: beyer@exprtise-tankstelle.de

About the eFuels Forum:

The eFuels Forum was founded in summer 2021 and now consists of over 50 energy companies and interest groups from all over Germany as well as the technology partner CAC Engineering GmbH. Since 2021, other partnerships have emerged from the eFuels Forum, such as eFuel GmbH and Klima Kraftstoffe GmbH.
