Are eFuels really not an issue for our German car industry – as many critics and the media keep claiming?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Of course DO!<\/p>\n

On Monday, for example, a “Letter of Intent” was ceremoniously signed in which the BMW Group<\/a>, the LOTHER GROUP<\/a> and German eFuel One<\/a> – to which some of our eFuels Forum friends belong – declare their intention to use eFuels as a first fill from 2028.<\/p>\n

As an innovative car manufacturer, BMW is thus officially adding synthetic fuels and eFuels to its range of instruments on the way to largely climate-neutral transportation and, according to autobild.de, is also approaching the “climate-friendly combustion engine” as a solution.<\/p>\n

According to autobild.de:
\n“Either electric cars – or fossil-free fuels – make largely climate-neutral transportation possible. BMW is now moving closer to the climate-friendly combustion engine with a far-reaching statement: The manufacturer will be supplying all petrol cars produced in Germany with e-fuels from 2028. The manufacturer has now published a corresponding declaration of intent together with the Lother Group and the company German eFuel One.” <\/p>\n

And further:
\n“BMW is thus taking a further step towards making combustion engines largely CO2-neutral. Since the beginning of 2025, all new diesels from Germany have been fueled with climate-friendly HVO. “We are convinced that all drive systems must make their contribution to climate neutrality,” said Glenn Schmidt, Head of Sustainability at BMW, at an event at the Berlin motorcycle plant.” <\/p>\n
