To this end, the alliance is calling for specific adjustments to European regulation:
“Our aim was to develop a viable, broadly supported proposal for the necessary further development of the European regulatory framework for refuels,” explains Winfried Hermann, Transport Minister of the federal state.

Here are eight fields of action for refuels production from the action plan:
1. Practical transitional rules for green electricity criteria
2. Use of unavoidable industrial CO₂ emissions beyond 2040
3. Simplified regulation of the joint processing of electricity-based, biogenic and fossil raw materials
4. Realistic import rules for PtL fuels from third countries
5. Roadmap to climate neutrality 2050 for planning security for investors
6. Regulatory grandfathering for first PtL plants
7. Risk minimization through purchase agreements and promotion
8. Standardized European book & claim system for SAF including a functioning chain of custody

Good to know – partners involved:
DHL Group, MAHLE, Stuttgart Airport, VDMA (German Engineering Federation), Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), eFuel Alliance, Association of the Württemberg Transport Industry

Photo: KIT/Markus Breig and Amadeus Bramsiepe

Source: https://www.verkehrsrundschau.de/nachrichten/transport-logistik/baden-wuerttemberg-startet-aktionsplan-fuer-strombasierte-kraftstoffe-3710948

Is the current EU policy or the European regulatory framework for refuels/eFuels currently more conducive or inhibiting?
