Is it really not possible to achieve our climate targets without eFuels?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Porsche engineer Karl Dums and many other automotive experts say quite clearly: YES, our climate targets cannot be achieved without e-fuels, although Dums already made this very clear to edison.media a few months ago: “Climate protection without e-fuels will not work.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He also dispelled two persistent misconceptions about eFuels!<\/span><\/p>\n

False prejudice number 1: “eFuels are too expensive”
\n<\/span><\/strong>Dums calculates: “Electricity in Germany is far too expensive to use for fuels. (…) In Chile, on the other hand, electricity doesn’t cost us 8 cents per kilowatt hour, but 2 cents. In other words: 20 kWh costs around 1.60 euros in Germany, but 40 cents in Chile.” The energy can then be transported to Germany, for example, in liquid form. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

False preconception number 2: “eFuels are inefficient”
\n<\/strong>If eFuels are produced in regions where renewable energies are available in virtually unlimited quantities, then efficiency does not play a role. For this reason, Porsche and other partners have built a pilot plant in Chile that is powered by wind energy that would otherwise go to waste. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dums emphasizes: “E-fuels are particularly important for the vehicle fleet.
