Is the ban on combustion engines really wrong? According to the Bild newspaper, BMW’s international contacts are at least shaking their heads at the EU Commission’s course and BMW CEO Oliver Zipse is also following suit: <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“You ask: Why is the EU banning a technology in which Europe has the greatest competitive advantage and which still offers so much potential through low-carbon fuels? And at the same time you are supposed to bet everything on the very technology that is leading Europe into a huge dependency on raw materials?”<\/a> Above all, he warned against a “sham solution” with regard to “low CO2 fuels” – meaning: “The EU Commission is easing the ban on combustion engines from 2035 with eFuels, then shirking its responsibility and doing nothing to accelerate the ramp-up of low CO2 fuels.” <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
